6How Loud is Too Loud?
Having a hearing loss is a struggle. You miss out on a lot of wonderful and important sounds. We know that loud sound can cause permanent damage to our ears. Let’s learn how loud some sounds are and how long we can safely listen to them before our ears can be hurt.The purpose of this Dangerous Decibels program module is to help the students begin to categorize sounds as SAFE or DANGEROUS. If a sound is categorized as DANGEROUS, then the students can begin to identify what strategy or strategies they might use to protect their hearing if exposed to this sound.
